Gregory J. Cahanin, CP was awarded a B.S. in Fire Protection over 48 years ago. He has served as a Senior Life Safety Engineer with NFPA, the organization that writes Life Safety and Fire Protection Codes and Standards. Greg is nationally recognized as a Life Safety and Fire Protection expert, performing fire origin and cause forensics, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, kitchen suppression and slip and fall investigations. He frequently testifies as a code expert in fire cases. He is nationally published on fire protection requirements in the building code and was a contributing editor on the International Building Code (IBC) Commentary where he edited the sections on fire-resistive rated construction. He currently serves on code committees with the NFPA. He holds a Paralegal Certification with NALA (CP).
